I have over ten years industry experience as a designer creating 2D/3D art, interfaces, game activities and other interactive systems. I received my PhD in Human Centered Design and Engineering from the University of Washington, and now work as an assistant professor at DePaul (College of Computing and Digital Media), where I teach in the HCI and Games programs.

My current research is focused in two areas:
(1) Motion-based videogames used in rehabilitation treatments for people who have had a brain injury; specifically we are exploring how to help therapists make evidence-based decisions about commercial games.

(2) Bridging the design/research dialogue gap which entails improving how designers access, utilize and integrate user research in their work.
